Ministry of Children and Family Development
The Ministry of Children and Family Development of the BC Government partners with numerous agencies to provide services for the well-being of children, youth, and families. Cygnus was asked to provide an environmental graphics program for the offices in Kelowna, BC. Over two floors, the 3,500 m2 space accommodates 190 government staff.

We designed a visually-cohesive environmental graphics program to inform and add character to the space.
In collaboration with Westbank First Nations advisors and the resident Ministry, Cygnus utilized local landmarks and flora and fauna as design inspiration. A series of symbolic animal silhouettes representing Westbank First Nations teachings were created to identify special meeting and interview rooms.
Large duotone photographs were combined with custom flora and fauna illustrations and topographical line patterns to create truly unique storytelling feature walls.
