Managing signage across 14 million hectares of wilderness requires a dynamic system.
BC Parks manages signage in over 1,000 provincial parks in British Columbia, from the Pacific Ocean to the Rocky Mountains. Maintaining consistency across so many locations, spread over such a large and varied landscape, had become difficult to coordinate. The standards that governed it were just as hard to manage: a static manual that was difficult to update, distribute, and maintain version control. Cygnus addressed this by developing SignStandards+, consolidating BC Parks' signage standards onto a single online platform. Over 100 regional operators, including seasonal staff, rely on SignStandards+ to create, edit, and procure new signage, from single replacement signs to entire park upgrades. Fabrication-ready sign packages are generated for submission to local sign vendors in each region, supporting local procurement while maintaining brand integrity and clear visitor navigation province-wide.
