A System Built to Scale
Spanning over 380,000 square feet across adjacent sites, including two headquarters buildings and a purpose-built Good Manufacturing Practice facility, the campus required a signage system engineered for both technical rigour and long-term adaptability. Cygnus developed a multi-phase implementation strategy that enables consistent application across diverse environments without diluting intent or identity. The program balances regulatory precision with spatial character, aligning safety and laboratory compliance with a workplace experience designed to attract and retain exceptional scientific talent.

Design Grounded in Identity
Environmental graphics drew inspiration from AbCellera’s core brand geometry, the “AbCellagon”, transforming a symbol of molecular insight into an architectural language. Angular forms, controlled colour application, and precise placement infused the campus with a distinct yet restrained visual rhythm. These strategic interventions animated corridors, reinforced orientation, and extended the brand’s conceptual depth into the built environment.

A Framework for Growth
Cygnus developed a comprehensive Signage Standards Manual that translates the brand platform into a set of precise, buildable components. The manual details colour usage, pictograms, sign types, and illustrative elements, supported by material specifications and fabrication guidelines. Beyond serving as a design reference, it functions as a practical tool, enabling AbCellera to implement signage systems across new facilities with speed, accuracy, and alignment to a cohesive campus-wide identity.
