Collaborative Partnership
The project was delivered in active collaboration with ICBC’s facilities and marketing teams, PS&Co. Brand Studio, site-level staff, and third-party property managers. This partnership ensured that brand application was accurate, operational requirements were addressed, and every signage package was feasible from both a construction and long-term maintenance perspective. The result is a system that not only reflects the new identity but also supports consistent public service delivery across British Columbia.

Systematized for Province-Wide Rollout
Implementing a unified brand across over 100 public-facing locations required a solution that could be documented, scaled, and implemented reliably across diverse settings without compromising consistency. A detailed signage standards manual provided clear specifications for fabrication, material selection, layout, and installation. This document served as both a reference and implementation tool, ensuring technical consistency while accommodating a broad range of site variables.

Responsive to Real Conditions
Each location was assessed in detail through on-site audits conducted across the province. Factors such as architectural context, shared tenancy arrangements, municipal bylaws, and interior circulation were recorded to inform customized solutions. These evaluations ensured that signage was visible, compliant, and operable within the unique constraints of each branch while maintaining visual continuity and user experience.

Designed for All
As a public agency, ICBC serves a wide cross-section of the population. The signage program was developed to meet Rick Hansen Foundation Accessibility Certification, embedding compliance into every design element from the outset. Colour contrast, clear typography, and a custom icon library were used to improve legibility, reduce cognitive load, and guide users effectively through high-traffic service environments, regardless of age or ability.
