Strategic Placement
Cygnus leveraged the museum’s strong sightlines and intuitive layout to create a strategy rooted in confirmation, not correction. Signs were used sparingly and placed strategically at key decision points to validate orientation rather than direct every step. This minimized signage volume, reduced costs, and preserved the architectural clarity.

Architectural Intent
Exterior identification signage uses understated black lettering applied directly to stone, aligning seamlessly with the building’s modernist architecture. Inside, bold yellow elements create purposeful contrast against neutral marble and granite finishes. Freestanding pylons, carefully scaled through on-site studies and prototyping, act as approachable, child-friendly markers that support orientation while maintaining visual harmony.

Layered Information
Thoughtfully placed directories guide visitors at critical intersections. Large panels near elevators and staircases outline floor-wide offerings, while smaller signage directs guests to specific exhibits and amenities. This tiered approach helps users maintain confidence and flow throughout their visit.
